DESIGN FEATURES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
At Superior, we design features into all our log homes that add up to greater warmth and comfort, more aesthetic appeal, simplified construction, and ultimate livability for you and your family - features unmatched by others in the industry.

For instance:

• We use some of the largest logs in the industry and wood is one of the best natural insulators there is. In fact, wood insulates 6 times better than brick, and 15 times better than concrete. For you, that means greater heat retention in the winter and easier cooling in the summer.

• The stacking height of a Superior log is 8", which means fewer joints. That means your home will be warmer, more secure, and able to hold back the strongest winter winds.

• We have developed a technique of joining logs using a groove and a spline that provides exact log alignment. When combined with our special weather sealant, this minimizes the need for interior and exterior caulking.

• Unlike many other log homes, no unsightly groove ever shows at the corners of a Superior Log Home.

• We have achieved a unique effect with inside corners. Occasional log ends are allowed to extend through to whatever length is desired, creating unusual coffee tables or rustic shelves on which to place antiques, books or plants.

• Superior Log Homes meet or exceed strict State of Michigan B.O.C.A. and Uniform Building Codes.

• We offer many unique log home designs, including solar, wood heated and conventionally heated homes, in sizes ranging from modest to very large. We can adapt or change any of our stock designs to suit your individual needs or budget, or we can specially design a Superior Log Home just for you. The choice is yours!
